Our Dark Brown Mulch is Naturally Colored with Compost

Our mulch is processed, stock piled and sold just a few miles east of Vinton in Stewartsville VA.

Please stop by our business to see our mulch piles and don’t forget to bring your truck or trailer so we can load it for you.

Directions: From Vinton, pass the Blue Ridge Parkway, go three miles, take a left at the traffic light onto route 619, also called Jordantown Road, go one mile, turn right up new road and follow our mulch signs to our mulch and compost piles.

Mulch Prices

Medium Brown (Customer pick up) $15.00 per yard.

Dark Brown (Customer pick up) $19.00 per yard.

We deliver mulch for FREE within eight miles (We have a six yard minumum on FREE deliveries). Add $3.00 per yard for mulch deliveries over eight miles. Add $20.00 for mulch deliveries five yards or less. We will give 10% cash back to anyone that wants us to donate a check written out to any Church or Favorite Charity. Notice: Our 10% cash back donation does not include discounts off of the Virginia state tax or our delivery charge and must be written out to the charity.

Compost

Yes, we sell compost! Our compost is very dark and rich and has a very pleasant earthlike smell. Our compost is aged approximately ten to twelve years and ready for your garden, landscape plants, house plants and more! You won’t believe how well your plants will thrive growing in our compost! Please contact us soon. We have a limited supply of compost.

Our compost is a mixture of many different species of plants, trees, leaves and grasses that we grind and pile up, mix occasionally and leave to compost for many years.

To make a good compost you must mix many different species together to mimic mother nature. Most compost only consist of one or two different plant materials and over time your plants and trees begin to suffer from a lack of or two much of certain critical nutrients. No matter what, no one can recreate what mother nature creates naturally. The more natural materials we mix together the closer we get to mother natures material mix, the better it is for your plants and trees.

Our compost goes through a heating process that kills weed seed and is insect free except microorganisims that help break down the compost and worms that can be found around the base of our compost piles creating worm casting and looking for food and a new home.

In the beginning of our composting cycle our compost piles are so tall that the inside of our compost piles heat up so hot that they will occasionally catch fire and burn. The piles collapse and snuff out the fires by themselves. Burning compost sounds bad but actually this is good because this adds potash to our final composted product. This is why our compost is so dark, almost black when damp or wet. Compost will stop catching fire after many years into our composting process. Notice: Potash is one of the most crucial elements that our earth and our earths trees and plants need to grow and survive.

Bulk compost is getting very hard to find except for bagged compost found at your local super stores, lumber stores and nurseries. Buying bulk compost is much less expensive than bagged compost. You never really know what you’re getting when you buy bagged mulch.
